The firm has steadily expanded its role in finely detailed and integrated residential interiors. Beginning in the mid 1980's, several projects in and around Boston allowed the firm to establish its unique ability to incorporate interior design and decoration with architectural design. Residential projects of historic significance involving renovation, restoration, addition and redecoration afforded the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the residential environment.

The integration of furniture layout, appropriate finishes, sensitively modernized systems, landscape considerations, lighting fixtures, custom built cabinetry, and furniture are considered at the beginning of the architectural design process, creating a seamless design reflecting the needs of the client and sensitive response to the existing context.

Essential to this work is a wide network of contractors, subcontractors, craftsmen, decorative painters, furniture builders and restorers, cabinet makers, upholsterers, antique and contemporary product vendors and consultants, with whom the firm has established lasting relationships. What makes our services most compelling is attention and response to the tastes and lifestyles of our clients, many of whom continue to work with us on new and ongoing projects.

Don Giambastiani provides insight into how he approaches the design process in this video. See additional project materials at houzz.com and cultivate.com.
